Lately Scribble has been updated. I don’t remember what was the update text but I’m fairly sure it didn’t mention ads. It is already painful to have a free app being updated to an ad-supported one by masquerading it behind a generic ‘bug fix’ update, but having done so in the way they did that one is just even more insane: basically a huge dialog pops up when the app starts, loading some HTML page in a rich component or something, which takes a freaking time to display in such an intrusive way and just gets in the way of the brilliantly simple workflow of the original version. Thar’s beg-ware at its finest if you ask me. Instead of promoting their new (useless) app, the developpers just demoted themselves from my trust list: as good as Scribble may have been, it has been awarded with an instant deletion.
